It’s four years into the future and the Tree Hill gang has finished college. Now, their lives have taken completely different directions. Lucas has written and published a book, Brooke has made it big in the fashion industry, Peyton is pursuing a career in the music business, and Nathan and Haley continue to raise a now older James.
There comes a moment in every person's life where what they may become, is surpassed by what they are. Unfortunately for Adam Stark and Jon Dodge that moment is now. The two old friends are trying desperately to feel hopeful about their futures, but as they both circle the drain of 50, the quiet desperation of middle age, tending to aging parents, the reality of fading careers, the dividing of assets of loves lost, is all getting to be a bit much. So Adam and Jon head for the desert to try and escape LA for some much needed R & R, however their journey is anything but as they uncover truths about each other and themselves and are forced to confront the horrors of the future, the mistakes of the past and the uncertainty of the present.
